Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0118062A2] 1. Strip coiler, in particular underground coiler in hot strip rolling trains, with a setting device for the contact pressure rollers (2' or 2 and 32) and/or deflecting cowls (3' or 3 and 33), wherein each roller carrier and/or cowl carrier (4' or 4 and 34) is held by support and guide organs and is actuable through a combined pneumatic-hydraulic setting device (13 or 43) for the closing and opening of the contact pressure roller unit relative to the winding mandrel (1' or 1) and in which the pneumatic-hydraulic setting device (13 or 43) consists of a hydraulic cylinder (15, 16) of limited stroke and of an hydraulic cylinder (22 or 52) housed in the tubular piston (17) thereof, wherein the piston rod (12 or 42) of the hydraulic cylinder (22 or 52) engages at the support and guide organs of the roller carrier and/or cowl carrier (4' or 4 and 34) and wherein the pressure medium loading of the pneumatic cylinder (15, 16) and of the hydraulic cylinder (22 or 52) is controllable independently, characterised thereby, that the tubular piston (17) containing the hydraulic cylinder (22 or 52) is bounded upwardly by its piston rod side and its neck part (21) in the pneumatic cylinder (15, 16) of its pressure space (20), that the neck part (21) of the tubular piston (17) in that case constantly projects downwardly out of the cylinder housing (16) of the pneumatic cylinder (15, 16), that the piston rod (12 or 42) of the hydraulic cylinder (22 or 52) furthermore projects downwardly out of the neck part (21) of the tubular piston (17) and that the tubular piston (17) is supported (18, 26) by the compressed air in its driven-in setting in the pneumatic cylinder (15, 16).
