[origin: WO8400931A1] A load carrying bar for motor vehicle which is designed from 2 parallel bars (1) and contains fixed or movable pins (20) between the bars, with the last pin (12) being of the movable type. The bar is fitted onto the roof of the car and fixed in position by sliding brackets (5). A load is placed on the bar and belt (11) is threaded under nearest pin (20) to the load, then the belt (11) is placed over the load and the method is repeated for more than one load by securing belt (11) under a close pin (2) then over the load. Belt (11) by a fixed loop at its end, is then secured by pin (12) and using a spanner, the ratchet (6) is moved to tighten the belt (11) over the load. Ratchet (6) stays in place with the aid of locking lever (9).

Galerie de transport de charge pour un véhicule à moteur, composée de deux barres parallèles (1) et contenant des ergots fixes ou mobiles (20) entre les barres, les derniers ergots (12) étant du type mobile. La barre est montée sur le toit de la voiture et fixée en position par des étriers coulissants (5). On place une charge sur la barre et on fait passer la courroie (11) sous l'ergot le plus proche (20) de la charge, on passe ensuite la courroie (11) sur la charge et on répète ce procédé pour d'autres charges éventuelles en faisant passer la courroie (11) sous un ergot proche (2) et ensuite sur la charge. La courroie (11) munie d'une boucle fixe à son extrémité, est ensuite retenue par l'ergot (12) et on fait tourner la roue à cliquet (6) à l'aide d'une clé pour serrer la courroie (11) sur la charge. La roue à cliquet (6) reste en place à l'aide d'un levier de blocage (9).
