[origin: WO8401132A1] In a motor vehicle rearview mirror provided with a pivoting casing preventing dazzling there is provided to enable the pivoting of the casing (1) a photocell (33) -actuated control mechanism (3) pivotingly connected to the casing (1). The photocell (33) is arranged in a light beam path starting from at least one light in headlight position of a vehicle situated behind. A mirror is secured to the pivoting casing (1) wherein the control mechanism (3) is fixed. The sensitivity of the photocell (33) is selected so that the photocell is sensitive to the light beam of headlights and is insensitive to the light beam of dipped headlights of the vehicle situated behind.

Dans un rétroviseur de véhicule automobile doté d'un boîtier pivotant afin d'empêcher tout éblouissement est prévu, pour que le boîtier (1) puisse pivoter, un mécanisme de commande (3) par cellule photosensible (33) relié de manière pivotante au boîtier (1). La cellule photosensible (33) est placée dans le parcours d'un rayon lumineux partant d'au moins un phare en position de route d'un véhicule situé derrière. Un miroir est attaché de manière fixe au boîtier (1) pivotant dans lequel est fixé le mécanisme de commande (3). On donne à la cellule photosensible (33) une sensibilité située en-deçà du rayon lumineux des feux de route et au-delà du rayon lumineux des feux de croisement du véhicule situé derrière.
