Abstract (en)
To agglomerate metal powders or metal powder mixtures with poor flowability, it is known that agglomerating agents are added to a liquid as solvent or emulsifier. The mixture is converted into a flowable finely agglomerated material and the finely agglomerated material is dried to evaporate the solvent. According to the invention, the powder bed is agitated in a mixer in air or protective gas and the agglomerating agent dissolved or emulsified in the liquid is added uniformly. The mixture is then heated to a temperature such that at least some of the solvent evaporates. Agglomerated materials can advantageously be produced by this method from metal powder or graphite powder, the proportion of carbon in the material produced therefrom being virtually reproducible and that specified when the material was originally weighed out.

Bekanntlich werden zum Granulieren nicht fließfahiger Metallpulver oder Metallpulvermischungen Granuliermittel in einer Flüssigkeit als Lösungs- oder Emulgiermittel beigemischt. Das Gemisch wird in ein fließfähiges Feingranulat überführt und das Feingranulat unter Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels getrocknet. Gemaß der Erfindung wird die Pulverschüttung in einem Mischer an Luft oder Schutzgas bewegt und mit dem in der Flüssigkeit gelösten oder emulgierten Granulationsmittel gleichmäßig versetzt. Anschließend wird das Gemisch auf eine solche Temperatur erwärmt, bei der das Lösungsmittel zumindest teilweise verdampft. Mit diesem Verfahren können vorteilhaft Granulate aus Metallpulver und Graphitpulver hergestellt werden, wobei der daraus erzeugte Werkstoff praktisch reproduzierbar den bei der Einwaage vorgegebenen Kohlenstoffanteil hat.
