Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8401125A1] In screw extruders, intended particularly to process fuel wastes, it is required to provide for a dosed material supply, a high pressure and for the most complete liquid removal to obtain as good a ratio as possible between the supply, the compression and the densification. To this effect, at least one guiding member which is in contact with the front end of the screw and with the neighbouring die outlet (3), allows the axial guiding of the extruded material to avoid the breaking thereof. The cross-section area and consequently the counter-pressure in an extension member (18) of the die outlet (3) is adjustable and is obtained preferably by wall elements (21) which are axially removable and extensible owing to the action of springs. A dosing device depending therefrom comprises cover elements controlled preferably by the axial displacement of the extension member (18) as a function of the pressure. These cover elements protect a grid or the like arranged in the hopper (2) between a crusher of the hopper (2) and the end upstream the screw. The guiding member traverses the wall (5) of the die (1), is driven by the screw and continuously cleans the main outlet of expressed liquid, said outlet being provided by the slot of the support in the wall (5).
