Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0119309A1] 1. A cross-country ski binding comprising a holding means (2) having a loop member (24) for a forward extension (5) of the sole of a cross-country ski boot (6), and a latching element in the form of a clip (3) which is displaceable relative to the loop member (24) in the longitudinal direction of the ski and which, in the clamping position, engages with a hook element (31) behind the loop member (24) and a shoulder (4) of the extension portion (5) of the sole and which can be urged against a spring along a guide (32) into a retaining means for securing the clamping position, characterized in that disposed at a spacing which is equal to or smaller than the spacing, as measured in the longitudinal direction of the ski, between the rearward edge (25) of the loop member (24) and an edge (26) of the holding means (2), which edge is in front of said rearward edge (25) and is diposed substantially parallel thereto, in front of the hook element (31) on the clip (3), is a guide surface (32) which faces towards the hook element (31) and which leads into an opening (33) provided in the clip (3), that the clip (3), at least in the region (34) between the hook element (31) and the guide surface (32), comprises an elastically deformable material, and that there is provided a clip projection (36) which projects forwardly beyond the guide surface (32) and which has a support surface (37) forming a support means, for bearing against the top of the ski.
