An architrave section element for double glazing which can be opened, comprising a first member (1) intended to be secured to the glass (3) of the double glazing and a second member (2) intended to be mounted on the frame (4) of a window or the like, one of the two members (1 and 2) comprising a groove (7) and the other member comprising a rib (6) which has a cross-sectional shape complementary to that of the groove and which can be engaged and locked in the latter by pressure, the second member (2) comprising a flexible portion (2c) acting as a hinge, characterized in that the groove (7) and the rib (6) are of a cross-section which is of a shape such that, on the side of the rib (6) and the groove (7) which is nearest the frame (4) of the window, there are formed a reinforcement (9) and an engagement lip (10) which are deeper and larger respectively than the reinforcement (11) and the engagement lip (12) situated on the other side of the rib and the groove.
