[origin: EP0119370A1] Pairs of tights are transferred one pair at a time from a knitting machine to another machine, firstly by drawing the feet into two suction tubes axially in line so that they are stretched apart. As they are released from the discharge elements of the knitting machine, two arms are rotated so that they are swung together to fit into an opening left between the seams so that they can be passed to a transfer device. The two arms, which are triangular, have their tips bent over, and when swing open again, stretch the opening so that it fits over a ring of pins on the transfer device. These pins are expanded, and the two arms are rotated axially for disengagement, after which they can be swung apart again.
