[origin: US4524707A] A device for feeding and sewing a knitted ribbon to the edge portion of garment parts of a mesh material, to be provided with a U-shaped border trimming. To secure the position of the upper portion of the folded ribbon, a horizontal separating element is provided adjacent the vertical guide web of the presser foot which is associated with a lifting web extending laterally of and spaced apart from the guide web ahead of the needle. In the area closely adjacent the needle, a hold-down adjustable in height is provided between the lifting web and the guide web. The guiding edge and the foot of the hold-down are provided at different levels in order to slightly stretch the material and spread apart the meshes of the border.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Zuführen und Annähen eines als Strick- oder Wirkborte hergestellten Besatzbandes (18) an Randbereiche von Bekleidungsteilen (19) aus Maschenmaterial, die vom Besatzband (18) U-förmig umfaßt werden. Zur Lagesicherung des oberen Teiles (20) des Besatzbandes (18) ist an einer senkrechten Kantenführung (31) des Stoffdrückerfußes (23) ein horizontales Trennblech (33) mit einem senkrecht zur Nahtlinie parallelen Führungssteg (34) mit einer im seitlichen Abstand von der Kantenführung (31) und vor der Nadel (3) angeordneten Leitkante (35) vorgesehen. In dem der Nadel (3) unmittelbar benachbarten Bereich ist zwischen dem Führungssteg (34) und der Kantenführung (31) ein höheneinstellbarer Niederhalter (39) angeordnet. Die Leitkante (35) und das untere Ende (38) des Niederhalters (39) sind zueinander höhenversetzt, um das Material etwas zu dehnen und die äußeren Maschen der Seitenkante (32) auszubreiten.
