[origin: US4508033A] The paper web capturing apparatus includes two capturing rollers, preferably disposed downstream of the last printing station, which when used in a prime-and-verso printing machine both have the same diameter as the printing station cylinders. Both cylinders acting as capturing rollers are provided with a rubber blanket and are driven at approximately the linear speed of the web. They are in continuous engagement with the web of material to be printed. During normal operation, the cylinders of the capturing apparatus effect an enhancement of the printing, in particular of the color printed at the last printing station, and in the event of web tearing the web is wrapped about one of the cylinders, which are positioned resiliently against one another.

Die Papierbahnfangvorrichtung umfaßt zwei vorzugsweise hinter dem letzten Druckwerk angeordnete Fangwalzen, die beim Einsatz in einer Schön- und Widerdruckmaschine beide den gleichen Durchmesser wie die Druckwerkzylinder aufweisen. Beide als Fangwalzen dienende Zylinder sind mit einem Gummituch versehen und werden etwa mit Maschinengeschwindigkeit angetrieben. Sie stehen ständig in Kontakt mit der Druckträgerbahn. Während des Normalbetriebes erfolgt durch die Zylinder der Fangvorrichtung eine Veredelung des Druckes, insbesondere der Farbe des letzten Druckwerkes, und beim Bahnriß wird die Bahn um einen der federnd gegeneinander angestellten Zylinder aufgewickelt.
