[origin: US4587794A] An apparatus for forming a single-fin wrapper sleeve about articles advanced through the apparatus, comprises a conveyor for advancing the articles in a conveying direction and in a plane of conveyance and a shaping body having a vertical longitudinal halving plane extending parallel to the conveying direction and perpendicularly to the plane of conveyance. The shaping body includes a first main forming surface including a planar surface portion and a second main forming surface joining the first main forming surface downstream as viewed in the conveying direction. The second main forming surface has a gradually closing tubular shape surrounding the conveyor and a longitudinal slot extending underneath the plane of conveyance parallel to the conveying direction and symmetrically with respect to the halving plane.

Zur Bildung eines Einflossenschlauches aus bandförmiger unkaschierter Aluminiumfolie in der Grössenordnung von 1/100 mm darf bei der Umformung ausser der Zugkraft aus der Siegelflosse zum Transport keine Kraft entstehen, die auf die Folie einwirkt, wil dies zu Faltungen oder zu Rissen führen kann. Ein Führungskörper (4) weist dementsprechend eine erste Hauptformungsfläche (41) zur Führung der flachen Folienpartie und eine zweite Hauptformungsfläche (42) zur Führung der Folienpartie im Schlauchbereich auf. Die Kante bei der Durchdringung der beiden Hauptformungsflächen (41, 42) ist als Wulst (46a, 46b) mit gerundetem Grat ausgebildet und verläuft in der Weise, dass die Folie ohne Querzug an den zu verpackenden Gegenstand herangeführt wird.
