[origin: WO8401092A1] A convertible outerwear garment (10) which includes a topologically continuous carrying bag (100) and pouch (120). The carrying bag (100) comprises a pocket (40) secured to an interior surface (23) of the outerwear (20) at a longitudinally extending garment opening (30) overlying a corresponding opening (45) in the pocket. A carrying bag (100) is provided by inverting the pocket (40) through the garment opening (30), the carrying bag receiving the topologically continuous outer garment (20). To this end, the carrying bag (100) is provided with a volume capacity substantially larger than that required for receiving the outerwear (20) and an opening (30) extending substantially across the width of the outer garment. A pouch (120) is provided by a pouch pocket (80) secured in topologically continuous relation to the carrying bag pocket (40). When neither outerwear (20) nor a carrying bag (100) is required, the garment and carrying bag pocket (40) are stored compactly in the pouch (120).
