[origin: US4577441A] A rotatable drum having a plurality of receiving stations for loading workpieces to be processed is rotated about a horizontal central axis through a plurality of work stations including at least one blasting station and a loading and unloading station. Each receiving chamber forms a sealed blasting chamber in the area of the blasting process station and flow off of the blasting medium and the blasted particles occurs by an arrangement of flow off channels defined between each of the receiving chambers and connected with the chambers in a labyrinthine manner in the central area of the drum.

Die Mehrstationenstrahlbehandlungsmaschine weist einem als Trommel (2) ausgebildeten Förderer für in mehreren Aufnahmekammern (5) mittels Haltevorrichtungen (21) gehaltene Werkstücke (6) auf. Jeweils das in einer Aufnahmekammer (5) liegende Werkstück (6) wird durch taktweises Drehen der Trommel (2) in zwei Strahlbehandlungsstationen (8, 8a) einer Austrommelstation (9) und einer Be- und Entladungsstation (7) gefördert. Die umfangsmässig gleichmässig verteilten Aufnahmekammern (5) sind derart mit an der Trommel (2) befestigten Wänden (10, 12, 13) umgeben, dass sie zusammen mit dem umgebenden Strahlgehäuse (1) im Bereich der Strahlbehandlungsstationen (8, 8a) eine abgedichtete Strahlkammer bilden. Der Abfluss des Strahlmittels und der abgestrahlten Teilchen ist durch die Anordnung der Strahlmittel-Abfluss-Kanäle (14) sowie durch deren labyrinthartige Verbindung mit den Aufnahmekammern (5) jederzeit gewährleistet.
