1. Device for applying a layer of a free-flowing, fine ceramic material onto a rigid, continuously moving carrier (2, 44) with a reservoir area for the material (13, 47) provided above the rectilinearly extending carrier (2, 44), the front boundary of which reservoir area in the direction of movement of the carrier is formed by a rotating roller (3, 45), and the lateral and rear boundaries of which are formed by walls (5, 8, 48, 49), characterized in that the roller (3, 45) is driven in rotary manner and the distance between the roller (3, 45) and the carrier (44) or the rear wall (8) can be adjusted to regulate the thickness of the applied layer (20, 56).

Eine Vorrichtung zum Auftragen einer Schicht aus einer fließfähigen, feinkeramischen Masse auf einen festen, kontinuierlich bewegten Träger unfaßt zur Erzielung einer gleichmäßigen Schichtstärke oberhalb des geradlinig geführten Trägers einen Vorratsraum für die Masse. Die in Bewegungsrichtung des Trägers vordere Begrenzung ist durch eine rotierend angetriebene Walze, die hinteren und seitlichen Begrenzungen sind durch Wände gebildet. Der Abstand zwischen der Walze und dem Träger oder der hinteren Wand ist zur Dosierung der Dicke der aufzutragenden Schicht einstellbar.
