[origin: US4541461A] The ribbon loom comprises a weft thread insertion needle arranged at one side of the warp threads for inserting at least one loop or bight of a weft thread into the weaving or loom shed formed by the warp threads. The weft thread insertion needle has a longitudinal slit throughout almost its entire length. The weft thread insertion needle is also provided with a hook which, exterior to the longitudinal slit, is located at least approximately in the plane of motion of the weft thread insertion needle and is oriented toward the thread guide for the weft threads. The tip or point of the hook is arranged in the proximity of the free end of the weft thread insertion needle and points toward such free end. This results in an especially slender design of weft thread insertion needle and a reliable engagement of the weft thread or threads on the hook solely by means of the thread guide without any supplementary or auxiliary device.

Die Bandwebmaschine weist eine an einer Seite der Kettfäden (14) angeordnete Eintragnadel (22) auf zum Eintragen mindestens einer Schlaufe eines Schußfadens (46a und/oder 46b) in das aus den Kettfäden gebildete Webfach. Die Eintragnadel (22) enthält einen fast über deren gesamte Länge gehenden Längsschlitz (34) und ferner ist die Eintragnadel (22) mit einem Haken (40) ausgerüstet, der außerhalb des Längsschlitzes (34) mindestens annähernd in der Bewegungsebene der Eintragnadel liegt und gegen die Fadenführer (44a und/oder 44b) für die Schußfäden (46a, 46b) gerichtet ist. Die Spitze (42) des Hakens (40) ist nahe des freien Endes der Eintragnadel (22) und gegen dieses hingerichtet angeordnet. Damit ergibt sich eine besonders schmale Bauweise der Eintragnadel und ein sicherer Eingriff des oder der Schußfäden an den Haken, allein mittels der Fadenführer ohne zusätzliche Hilfsmittel.
