Washing and drying vat, in particular a shampoo vat, comprising - a shell (1) of avoid shape overall, equipped, in its lower part, with an opening for draining waste water and having, in its front face, a large opening (2) intended to permit the insertion into the shell (1) of the head and arms of a user sitting on a seat (36) arranged in front of the shell (1), - at least one showering instrument (9) supplied via a regulator for hot water and cold water and arranged in the upper part of the shell (1) so that at least a part of its jet of water is directed towards the centre of the shell (1), and - a pulsating hot air drier (12) opening into the shell (1) so that its jet of air is directed substantially towards the centre of the shell (1) characterized in that it comprises at least three showering instruments (9) whose directions are adjustable, of which one, in a median position and projecting from the rear part of the shell (1) delivers a jet directed substantially downwards and forward against the part of the shell (1) which is situated under the opening (2) in the front face, and of which the other two, arranged symmetrically on both sides of the first and projecting substantially from the lateral parts of the shell (1), deliver jets which are directed substantially downwards and transversely, each against the part of the shell (1) which is situated under the other lateral showering instrument (9) and between the latter and the opening (2) the three jets intersecting substantially in the centre of the shell (1).
