Abstract (en)
1. Turret for an armoured vehicle comprising a saddle (3) mounted on the vehicle via a ring race (5) allowing its rotation around a vertical axis and an oscillating body (2) mounted on the saddle via trunnions (9) so as to be able to oscillate around a horizontal axis, the saddle being made up of a baseplate (19) and front, rear and side walls (18, 20 and 21) and covered by the oscillating body, characterized by the fact that the baseplate (19) of the saddle is located approximately in the plane of the ring race (5), that the front and rear walls (18 and 20) of the saddle are made up of sections of cylindrical surfaces the axes of which coincide with the axes of the trunnions (9) and delimit with the side walls (21) in the plane of the baseplate (19) a polygon circumscribed about the circular opening of the baseplate bordered by the ring race (5), and that the oscillating body (2) has, seen from the side, the shape of two trapezes joined by their long bases, its side walls (16) consisting of inclined panels assembled to form protruding edge dihedrons.

L'invention a pour objet une tourelle pour engin blindé comportant une sellette (3) montée sur l'engin par l'intermédiaire d'une couronne de roulement (5) permettant sa rotation autour d'un axe vertical et un corps oscillant (2) monté sur la sellette par l'intermédiaire de tourillons (9) de façon à pouvoir osciller autour d'un axe horizontal. Pour augmenter l'espace disponible à l'intérieur de la tourelle et améliorer la protectiton de l'équipage, le corps oscillant (2) coiffe la sellette (3) et cette dernière est formée d'une embase (19) située approximativement dans le plan de la couronne de roulement (5), et de parois avant (18), arrière (20) et latérales (21) circonscrites à la dite couronne de roulement, les parois avant et arrière divergeant vers le haut à partir du plan de l'embase.
