1. Chimney cowl for mounting on the upper end of a chimney, comprising an inner frame part (10) and an outer frame part (11) secured thereon, between which a perpendicular intermediate space is formed, in which the outer frame part is displaced vertically upwards relative to, and has a greater cross-section than, the inner frame part, the lower edge of the outer frame part lying below the upper edge of the inner frame part, and in which the two frame parts are connected together by plate-like struts (12) which span the space between the two frame parts and hinder lateral spreading of wind on the chimney, the chimney cowl housing in its upper region has a central cover (13), for preventing the entry of precipitation and the sun's rays, which overlies the inner frame part and, with the outer frame part, leaves free a peripheral outlet gap for the smoke, characterized in that the outer frame part (11) widens from its lower edge to its upper edge, that the cover (13) substantially overlies the region enclosed by the lower edge of the outer frame part, that the platelike struts (12) are arranged diagonally in the corners and that the outer and inner frame parts (10, 11) and the plate-like struts (12), as well as the area overlain by the cover (13), form wind chambers, the breadth of which is substantially greater than their height.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Kaminhaube zum Aufsetzen auf das obere Ende eines Kamins mit einem an den Kamin befestigten inneren Rahmenteil (10) und einem daran befestigten äußeren Rahmenteil (11) größeren Durchmessers, welches gegenüber dem inneren Rahmenteil (10) nach oben versetzt ist. Zur Befestigung der Rahmenteile aneinander dienen in den Ecken angebrachte Windfangplatten (12), die sich über die Unterkante des äußeren Rahmenteils (10) erstrecken. Der äußere Rahmenteil (11) erweitert sich von seiner Unterkante zur Oberkante, wobei die Breite der Windkammer welche zwischen äußerem und innerem Rahmenteil, den Windfangplatten (12) und dem Überstand eines oberen Schutzbleches (13) gebildet ist wesentlich größer als die Höhe der Windkammer ist und wobei das Schutzblech (13) im wesentlichen den von der Unterkante des äußeren Rahmenteils (11) umschlossenen Bereich überdeckt.
