[origin: EP0122883A2] In order to produce quickly and efficiently reinforcing networks, in particular from elements not permitting electric welding, a tying wire (43) on a machine is drawn in transversely over the longitudinal rods to be connected, by a drawing-in carriage (35) moving back and forth shuttle-like, and is tightened by means of dies (49). Thereafter, templates (53) are lowered over the dies (49), the wire is divided into segments and, after the formation of U-shaped clips by means of dies and templates, the dies (49) are withdrawn from the template region (E53). The templates are then lowered, at the same time swivelling (S8), over the parts (5, 7) to be tied, the clip ends are grasped by twisting heads (63) and twisted until the wire breaks. <IMAGE>
