[origin: US4551932A] A ski boot has a frontal opening adapted to be closed by a tongue. The tongue carries a latching mechanism having fastening members that may be moved into and out of engagement with anchor members fixed to the boot on opposite sides of the opening. The tongue wholly overlies the fastening members and the anchor members when the boot is in use, thereby minimizing the possibility of icing of the tongue latching mechanism.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Skischuh mit Zentralverschluß (5) bei dem die beiden Spannglieder (7, 8) durch die Zunge (3) abgedeckt und zumindest in ihrem äußeren Bereich (3a, 3b) geführt sind. Dadurch wird die Handhabung des Zentralverschlusses (5) wesentlich erleichtert und zugleich ein Schutz der Spannglieder (7, 8) gegen Vereisung geschaffen.
