Domestic gas oven comprising an oven compartment (1) one wall (3) of which has an orifice (4) for venting of combustion gases opening into a chimney (6) which is connected to a fresh-air intake, characterised in that, on the one hand, it comprises a first device (7) which, when in a first operative state, fully opens the orifice to the chimney and, when in a second operative state, partially closes the orifice (4) and at the same time opens the fresh-air intake into the chimney (6) and, on the other hand, in conjunction with a temperature sensor it comprises a second device (9, 10, 11) which automatically effects the change of the operative condition of the first device (7) when the temperature in the oven compartment (1) has reached a predetermined value.
