Process for manufacturing spherical granules, in particular metallic granules, in which the starting material is first melted down in an electric melting furnace, then atomised on emerging from a tapping bath (20) and after solidification is hardened, tempered and sorted, is characterised in that the solidification takes place in a free-moving phase (24) after atomisation. The atomisation is effected by combined mechanical and hydraulic means. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von kugelförmigen Granulaten, insbesondere metallischen, bei dem Ausgangsmaterial zunächst in einem Elektroschmelzofen eingeschmolzen, dann aus einer Abstichwanne (20) austretend zerstäubt und nach Erstarrung gehärtet, angelassen und sortiert wird, und ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Erstarrung in einer Freibewegungsphase (24) nach der Zerstäubung erfolgt. Die Zerstäubung erfolgt kombiniert mechanisch und hydraulisch.
