[origin: US4620719A] An apparatus for facilitating adjustment of a ski binding part longitudinally of a ski includes a guide rail adapted to be secured to the ski, a guide plate movably supported on the guide rail and having the ski binding part thereon, a piston longitudinally movably supported on the guide rail and biased in one direction by a thrust spring, and a locking mechanism for releasably holding the piston in various longitudinal positions relative to the guide rail. The locking mechanism includes a U-shaped locking element which has a bight and two generally upright legs and which is pivotally supported on the guide plate for movement between a locking position and a release position. The locking element has teeth on the bight thereof which engage teeth on the guide rail in the locking position, and one of the legs of the locking element slidably engages surfaces on a projection on the piston in a manner yieldably resisting movement of the locking element away from its release position.

Durch die Erfindung soll eine lösbare Verrastung für einen Skibindungsteil (3) geschaffen werden, mittels deren dieser Skibindungsteil (3) an unterschiedlich große Skischuhe angepaßt werden kann. Zu diesem Zweck ist der Skibindungsteil (3) mittels einer Führungsplatte (2) entlang einer skifesten Führungsschiene (1) verschiebbar. Zur Verrastung dient ein Rastelement (10), welches an seinem Mittelsteg (10a) mit Rastzähnen ausgestattet ist, die zum Eingriff in Zahnleisten (1b) der Führungsschiene (1) bestimmt sind. Die Grundplatte (2) ist unter Zwischenschaltung von Schubfedern (6), welche einen Kolben (7) beaufschlagen, am Rastelement (10) abgestützt. Erfindungsgemäß ist ein Schenkel (11) des Rastelementes (10) derast ausgebildet, daß zum Festhalten des Rastelementes (10) in dessen entriegeltem Zustand der Endbereich (11a) des Schenkels (11) an einer Rastfläche (8a) eines oberen Vorsprunges (8) des Kolbens (7) abgestützt ist. In der Fahrtstellung des Skibindungsteils (3) ist der Kolben (7) mittels eines unteren Vorsprunges (9) am Schenkel (11) des Rastelementes (10) abestützt. Beide Vorsprünge (8, 9) des Kolbens (7) liegen unter dem Einfluß der Schubfedern (6) am Schenkel (11) des Rastelementes (10) an.
