[origin: EP0124069A2] The mounting unit has connection pieces for the supporting part and the part to be mounted as well as a body of elastomeric material, in particular rubber, arranged between the two connection pieces; the end region of at least one connection piece, embedded in the elastomer body, is designed as a waveguide of continuously decreasing cross-sectional area, the viscoelastic, elastomeric material itself serving as a damping material for these end regions. As a result, such mounting units exhibit satisfactory acoustical characteristics even at frequencies in excess of 400 Hz. <IMAGE>
