[origin: EP0124116A2] The print head has a cylindrical profile with a carrier roller at one end. The main body of the head is divided into a number of radial segments that act as reservoirs, for the different coloured inks. Rotation of the head is via a transport wheel coupled to a stepping motor receiving commands from a control unit. The positional registration of the head is provided by formed lugs located around the periphery. One of the reservoirs is of double size and this is assigned a pair of registration lugs to ensure that wear of all lugs is uniform. All reservoir elements are exchangeable.
