Apparatus for drying photographic emulsion supports, with a drying chamber in which slit jets and transporting rollers are arranged on two opposed sides of the path of transportation of the emulsion support, a blower which sends heated air via ducts to the slit jets and is arranged in a circulation chamber into which the air issuing from the drying chamber into a circulating air shaft passes, via this circulating air shaft, and with a means supplying fresh air into the circulation chamber, characterised in that two circulating air shafts (16) which are adjacent to the drying chamber (8) on the two other opposed longitudinal sides are provided for returning the air to the circulation chamber (17), in that a second blower (22) is provided, the suction side of which extends into the region of the two circulating air shafts (16) and the blower side of which leads via a duct (24) away from the effective region of the apparatus, and in that the fresh air supply means (21, 18) extends from the top side of the apparatus via an insulating shaft (18), which surrounds the drier (2) on its top side and the two sides outside the circulating air shafts, into the suction area only of the first blower (13).
