[origin: US4554438A] The cooker contains several conventional hotplates in a mounting plate. A thermostat is associated with each hotplate. However, the thermostat is not placed in or on the hotplate, but is instead located on the cooker, particularly between the hotplate and the edge or one of the corners of the mounting plate to protect against localized overheating apart from the hotplate.
