1. An insert (1, 1'; 10, 10') for expansion joints in the bottom part, on the combustion chamber side, of a cast light-metal cylinder head for internal combustion engines, especially Diesel engines, the insert being formed to provide a securing position in the casting mould, characterised in that one or more retaining part(s) (arch piece 2; ring parts 11, 11') are connected to the insert (1, 1'; 10, 10'), and the insert and/or a retaining part have a configuration which is adapted to a casting core of the casting mould for retention engagement by virtue of the application of force or of shape.

Zur Ausbildung von Dehnfugen im brennraumseitigen Bodenteil eines gegossenen Leichtmetall-Zylinderkopfes für Diesel-Brennkraftmaschinen durch gesonderte Einlagen (10, 10') werden zu deren rascher und einwandfreier Lagefixierung ohne besonderen Aufwand die Einlagen (10, 10') durch Halteteile (11, 11') miteinander verbunden. Die Halteteile (11, 11') weisen eine Gestaltung (Auflageflächen 13, 13') auf, die Gußkernen (14 und 15) einer Gießform (16) zur kraft- und/oder formschlüssigen Halterung angepaßt ist.
