[origin: US4631943A] A locking key, designed to preserve an indication of the lock-shifting (opening or closing) operation last performed, has a shank with an extension shaft rotatably received in an adjoining head, the relative rotation of the shank and the head being limited to 90 DEG or 180 DEG by a retaining pin in the head coacting with a part-circular recess on the shaft. The pin and the recess also serve to hold the head in a fixed axial position with reference to the shank. A spring-loaded detent in the shaft or elsewhere inside the head serves to index the two key portions in either of their limiting relative positions.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Schlüssel mit speichernder Anzeige für die zuletzt ausgeführte Betätigungsdrehrichtung im Schloß) Das auf dem Zapfen (3) drehbar angeordnete Griffteil (4) enthält Stiftanordnungen (6, 9, 11, 11') die in Verbindung mit der am Zapfen (3) ausgebildeten und mit dem Stift (9) korrespondierenden Rille (5) die jeweilige Drehendstellung des Griffteils (4) festlegen und durch die in der Bohrung (7) angeordnete Druckfeder (10) in Verbindung mit der geometrischen Anordnung der Stifte (9, 11, 11') eine Verdrehsicherung des Griffteils (4) - durch Überwinden eines Drehmomentes - gegeben ist.
