Die Gase werden durch das Feststoffbett auf die Maschine geleitet. Zur Vermeidung von durch Temperaturdifferenzen bedingten Spannungen in der Tragkonstruktion und zur Erzielung eines einwandfreien Rundlaufs trotz Wärmeausdehnung und einer guten Abdichtung besteht die Tragkonstruktion aus radial angeordneten Speichen (1), die nur innen durch eine ringförmige Konstruktion (2) miteinander verbunden sind. Die ringförmige Konstruktion (2) wird innen durch horizontale Rollen (3) auf einer Kreisbahn (4) geführt. Die Tragkonstruktion wird innen durch an den Speichen (1) oder der ringförmigen Konstruktion (21 befestigte Räder (5) und außen von an den Speichen (1) befestigten Rädern (5a) auf kreisförmigen Schienen (6, 6a) abgestützt. Die gasdurchlässigen Roste (7) sind jeweils zwischen zwei benachbarten Speichen (1) um eine Kippachse (8) absenkbar angeordnet, der freie Raum (9) zwischen benachbarten Rosten (7) ist durch eine Abdeckung (10) abgedeckt, außen auf den Speichen (1) und innen auf den Speichen (1) oder der ringförmigen Konstruktion (2) sind Rungen (11, 11a) angeordnet und an den Rungen (11) sind Seitenwände (12, 12a) befestigt.
