[origin: EP0127483A2] There is disclosed a process which comprises the steps of: (a) bonding a web of fusible staple fibers by thermal bonding in an intermittent pattern; (b) stretching the bonded web at elevated temperature; and (c) cooling the stretched web, to thereby produce a fabric having elastic properties perpendicular to the direction of stretch.
