[origin: WO8402160A1] A rotary seal rotary engine has a lobed or vaned rotor which co-operates with a rotary seal member in the manner of a Root's blower. The rotor (60) has a cylindrical hub portion (62) and at least one lobe or vane (63) which extends radially outwardly from the cylindrical surface of the hub. The lobe or vane (63) has a part-cylindrical shape with the axis thereof displaced from the axis of rotation (68) of the rotor (60). A method of manufacturing the rotor (60), rotary seal member (70) and housing (3) by extruding each in a predetermined profile of indefinite length and slicing into lengths according to the required axial dimension is also disclosed.

Un moteur rotatif à joint rotatif possède un rotor à lobes ou à ailettes qui coopère avec un organe de joint rotatif à la manière d'une soufflante de Root. Le rotor (60) possède une partie moyeu cylindrique (62) et au moins un lobe ou ailette (63) qui s'étend radialement vers l'extérieur à partir de la surface cylindrique du moyeu. Le lobe ou ailette (63) possède une forme en partie cylindrique, et son axe est déplacé par rapport à l'axe de rotation (68) du rotor (60). Un procédé de fabrication du rotor (60), de l'organe de joint rotatif (70) et de l'enceinte (3) par extrusion de chacun de ces organes avec un profil prédéterminé de longueur indéfinie et par découpage en longueurs selon la dimension axiale requise est également décrit.
