Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0128277A1] 1. A surface treatment device, in particular for cleaning, polishing and grinding, consisting of a housing (4), if necessary, with a handle (4', 4") attached to it, the housing (4) at least partly surrounding an electric motor (1), the unbalanced movement of which is imparted by an eccentric weight (2), a tool carrier (3) together with a tool (23) being connected to the motor end facing the eccentric weight (2), the unit consisting of the motor (1) and the tool carrier (3) being mounted on the housing (4) in a pendulum way on the motor and opposite to the eccentric weight (2) by means of a slewable holding device (5) arranged in the housing (4) or on the handle (4') respectively, and being oscillatably mounted on the housing (4) in the area of the eccentric weight (2) by means of an oscillatable bearing (8) arranged between the tool carrier (3) and the housing (4) and consisting of oscillatable bolts (8') or equivalent, and the said unit thus transferring an oscillatory movement substantially circling in a pendulum way to an object to be treated, wherein the motor (1) and the tool carrier (3) are attached to each other by means of an additional elastic intermediate member (11) operating more rigidly compared to the elastic oscillatable bearing (8).
