[origin: WO8402322A1] Apparatus in which label stock (3) is first printed and printed labels then fed to a combining station (6, 7, 8) in which they are adhesively combined with a piece of card backing (11) fed from a strip of backing material moving in a direction transverse to the direction of label stock feed (3). The leading portion of the backing is cut off and adhered to part of the label, giving a composite label having a reinforced tear off portion and an adhesive portion which may be used to attach the label to merchandise.

Appareil dans lequel un stock d'étiquettes (3) est tout d'abord imprimé et des étiquettes imprimées sont ensuite amenées à une station de combinaison (6, 7, 8) où elles sont combinées de manière adhésive avec une pièce de support en carton (11) provenant d'une bande de matériau de support se déplaçant dans une direction trnsversale à la direction d'alimentation du stock d'étiquettes (3). La partie avant du support est coupée et collée à une partie de l'étiquette, formant une étiquette composite dotée d'une partie à arracher renforcée et d'une partie adhésive pouvant être utilisée pour fixer l'étiquette à la marchandise.
