Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0129263A2] Invention incorporates at least one rotary cam suitable for adapting the fabric transport cyclically to execute special decorative stitches. The sewing machine possesses an external operating element for the continuously variable regulation of the transport values released by the cam from a zero to a maximum value. The operating element alters the transport values while keeping them in the same ratio at the same time and does not alter the transport direction. The kinematic chain connecting the cam with the stitch adjusting shaft consists of two quadrilateral bell crank throttle controls, of which one features a mobile crank, which can be altered between a zero and a maximum value. Sewing machine features a frame. A stand fastened to the frame carries a top arm extending above the frame and the end of the arm contains a head covered by a lid. The head incorporates the elements for stitch formation, including the needle rod, the yarn tensioner, and the top yarn tensioning device. The adjustable crank features a cylinder-shaped wall, which supports a crossbar, and the crank can be adjusted by adjusting the crossbar. The sewing machine features an exterior operating element, which in manual operation can be used as a stitch length adjusting device. In automatic operation, it functions as a continuously variable regulator of the automatic transport. As a result, automatically produced decorative stitches can be longer or shorter, while they remain similar in other respects.
