Radial holes (12) drilled in an outer ring (9), which is integral with the winding roll, contain balls (13) which can drop into a half-housing (14) and lock the blind during a slow winding rotation, this half-housing (14) being situated on a cage (11), which is locked in rotation on a fixed central rod (4), but permitting a small angular deflection of the outer ring (9)/cage (11) assembly in the unwinding direction during which a piston rod (24) pushes the ball (13) out of the half-housing (14) and unlocks the blind. <IMAGE>
