An apparatus for drying of hoses, more particularly fire hoses, in form of a cabinet (1) with means for receiving rollers of wet, rolled up hoses (8), a fan (15) for circulating air through the hoses and means for heating the air, characterized in that the apparatus comprises a heat pump (9) with a first heat exchanger the evaporator (12) of which serving for cooling the wet air coming from the hoses and for extracting water through an outlet (16), and with a second heat exchanger the condenser (10) of which serving for heating the dried air, and in that the heat pump is arranged in close circulation.
