1. Machine for the shredding of garden refuse such as twigs and foliage of shrubs or the like, with a filler opening (17), formed by a hopper (12) preferably at the upper end of the housing (11), and a discharge opening (15), preferably located at the lower end of the housing (11), and a motor-driven means, arranged between them and formed as an ellipse-shaped rocking disc (21, 22), xhich is secured on a rotatively supported drive shaft (18) and on the circumference of which cutting edges (23) are formed, which cooperate cuttingly with a cylindrical inner wall of the housing (11) characterised in that to both sides of the rocking disc (21, 22) part-cylindrical metal bands (29, 30) are secured on the housing (11) spaced from the vertical mid-plane (centre line), which metal bands are formed open in a downward direction and of which the opposing longitudinal edges form the cutting edges (30a).

Bei einer Maschine zum Zerkleinern von Gartenabfällen wie Zweigen und Laub von Sträuchern od. dgl., mit einer oberhalb eines Gehäuses (11) von einem Trichter (12) gebildeten Einfüllöffnung und einer an der Unterseite des Gehäuses (11) befindlichen Austrittsöffnung (15) ist in dem Gehäuse (11) zwischen dem Trichter (12) und der Austrittsöffnung (15) als Schneidwerkzeug eine Taumelscheibe (21, 22) an einer drehbar gelagerten Antriebswelle (18) befestigt. Bei Drehung der Antriebswelle (18) schneiden die Schneidkanten (23) der Taumelscheibe (21) die an die innere Oberfläche des Gehäuses (11) gedrückten Gartenabfälle bei ruhigem, geräuscharmem Lauf.
