[origin: EP0131273A2] The known hydromassage apparatuses are generally designed for commercial use and are therefore relatively large and unwieldy, so that the actual massage with the water jet must be carried out through a pipe. In order to provide a manageable apparatus, in particular for home use, an electric motor (7) and the liquid pump (6) driven by it are arranged in a rod-shaped housing (7a, 7b) with a tangentially extending liquid outlet (5b). In this way, the person taking the massage can reach all parts of the body simply and easily. The massage apparatus is in this case fed from a battery, which is arranged in a housing and is connected to the massage apparatus via a cable (8). The charge terminal (23) and the apparatus terminal (24) can be alternately blocked by means of a slide (22) in order to avoid the danger of an electric shock. <IMAGE>
