[origin: US4606884A] The present invention concerns the manufacture of bars, wires or profiled elements by hot transformation which may be followed by cold transformation. The invention particularly concerns a new process for the manufacture of a composite billet for hot transformation as well as a method for the manufacture of products which are difficult to transform by making use of such a composite billet.

L'invention concerne un nouveau procédé de réalisation d'un lopin composite pour transformation à chaud ainsi qu'une méthode de fabrication de produits à transformer mettant en oeuvre un tel lopin composite. Dans le lopin composite (17) de l'invention, une ou plusieurs ébauches (8) en métal ou alliage difficile à transformer sont disposées dans une matrice constituée uniquement avec de la poudre (9) agglomérée. Le procédé s'applique à la transformation de métaux ou alliages réfractaires, de métaux ou alliages fragiles, de métaux ou alliages altérables à chaud et de pièces profilées.
