Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0131734A2] The brush manufacturing machine (1) (Figure 1) has three-phase servo drive motors (8, 8a, 8b) for positioning workpiece holders (7), in which brush bodies (6) are clamped for processing. These motors result in a brush manufacturing machine which, in total, requires virtually no maintenance in respect of the drives, the drives also being insensitive to the development of dust which is unavoidable in brush manufacture. Due to the favourable weight per unit power of these three-phase servo drive motors, they can also readily be built on virtually directly next to the positioning devices, which allows a high required positioning speed due to their comparatively low weight. <IMAGE>
