[origin: US4664189A] A method and device are provided for carrying out measurements and/or operations in a well. In this method at least one tube is used which includes at least two parts one of which is an upper tubular part and another of which is a lower tubular part, an extension having an upper end and a lower end and an instrument for carrying out measurements and/or operations fixed to the lower end of said extension. The method involves the steps of: (a) fitting said extension equipped with said instrument to the lower part of said tube, (b) fitting the upper part of the tube above the lower part of the tube thereby providing greater penetration into the well of the assembly formed by the lower tube, the extension and the instrument and (c) effecting movement of the extension and of the instrument with respect to the tube to a position of said instrument where the measurement and/or operations may be carried out.

Méthode et dispositif pour effectuer des mesures ou/et interventions dans un puits. Selon la méthode, on utilise au moins un tube (2) comportant au moins deux parties: l'une dite supérieure (2a) et l'autre inférieure (2b), une extension (1) ayant deux extrémités: l'une dite supérieure et l'autre inférieure et un instrument de mesure ou/et d'intervention (3) fixé à l'extrémité inférieure de l'extension. La méthode est caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte successivement les étapes suivantes: a) le montage de ladite extension (1) équipée de l'instrument (3) sur la partie inférieure du tube (2b), b) le montage de la partie supérieure du tube (2a) au-dessus de la partie inférieure du tube (2b), cette étape s'accompagnant d'une pénétration plus grande dans le puits (21) de l'ensemble constitué du tube inférieur de l'extension (1) et de l'instrument (3), et c) le déplacement de l'extension (1) et de l'instrument relativement au tube (2) jusqu'à une position dudit instrument permettant les mesures ou/et interventions. L'invention peut être utilisée pour effectuer des mesures ou/et interventions dans un puits pétrolier notamment dévié ou horizontal.
