[origin: US4633777A] The machine can print on both sides of the paper either an image with juxtaposed colors by means of a typographic plate inked respectively by an ink collecting cylinder inked in turn by selective color inking cylinders of which the number corresponds to the number of colors, or an image with superposed colors and designs by means of plate cylinders substituted for the selective color inking cylinders and provided with printing plates inking a respective offset cylinder and of which the number corresponds to the number of colors and designs, or an image of each type aforesaid. For this purpose the machine comprises two blanket cylinders operating either as collecting cylinders spaced from each other, each in contact with a cylinder carrying said typographic plate of which the image is transferred via another blanket cylinder to the paper surface, or as offset cylinders pressed against, and printing, the paper, or one as a collecting cylinder and the other as an offset cylinder, both separated. In the last case the image on the offset cylinder is transferred via a transfer cylinder substituted for the cylinder carrying the typographic plate to said blanket cylinder.

La machine peut imprimer sur les deux côtés du papier soit une image à couleurs juxtaposée au moyen d'une plaque typorgraphique (5a,15a) respectivement encrée par un cylindre collecteur (6,16) à son tour encré par des cylindres sélecteurs des couleurs (8,8a;18,18a) dont le nombre correspond au nombre de couleurs, soit une image à couleurs et dessins superposés au moyen des cylindres porte-plaques (8,8b;18,18b) qui remplacent les cylindres sélecteurs et sont munis des plaques d'impression encrant un cylindre offset respectif et dont le nombre correspond au nombre de couleurs et dessins, soit une image de chaque type mentionné. Dans ce but la machine comporte deux cylindres porte-blanchets (6,16) qui fonctionnent soit comme cylindres collecteurs écartés l'un de l'autre, chacun en contact avec un cylindre (5;15) portant ladite plaque typographique (5a,15a) dont l'image est transférée via un autre cylindre porte-blanchet (4,14) sur le papier, soit comme cylindres offsets mis en pression et imprimant sur le papier, soit l'un comme cylindre collecteur et l'autre comme cylindre offset, les deux écartés. Dans ce dernier cas l'image sur le cylindre offset est transmise via un cylindre de transmission qui remplace le cylindre porte-plaque typographique, audit cylindre porte-blanchet.
