Programme switching device, more particularly for household machines, having a programme cam drum (1) and a timer cam drum (2), both of which have inner teeth (9 or 10) ; having a stepping mechanism comprising a rocker (22) which is driven by a driving motor by way of an eccentric (20) and in which first spring-loaded plungers (16, 17) are guided, which plungers cooperate with the inner teeth (10) of the timer cam drum (2) normally covering the inner teeth (9) of the programme cam drum (1) and, with corresponding control slots (32) in the inner teeth (10) - projecting through said control slots (32) - come into engagement with the inner teeth (9) of the programme cam drum (1), characterised in that arranged inside the programme cam drum (1) there is a time extension ring (3) which is likewise provided with inner teeth (11, 12) and at least one control slot (33) and with which there is associated at least one further spring-loaded plunger (19) which is guided in the rocker (22) and cooperates with the inner teeth (11) of the time extension ring (3) and with the inner teeth (9) of the programme cam drum (1) in a manner corresponding to that of the first plungers (16, 17) for the timer cam drum (2) and programme cam drum (1), in that the plunger-driven time extension ring (3) is provided further with a resetting spring (29) acting on a housing projection (31) and also with a reverse blocking lever (25) for the time extension ring (3) and in that this blocking lever (25) is effective in dependence on the presence or non- presence in its area of engagement of additional teeth (27) of the programme cam drum (1) associated with said lever, such that no resetting of the time extension ring (3) takes place when additional teeth (27) are present, yet resetting does take place when the additional teeth (27) of the programme cam drum (1) are not present and when the blocking lever (25) lifts out of these teeth (27) when programme cam drum (1) moves further.
