[origin: EP0133299A1] 1. A housing for a light fitting with a channel-like first housing part (1; 1.1) formed from floor and side walls, with a longitudinal axis (L) and end edges (13; 13.1) running transversely thereto, with a second housing part (2; 2.1) extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the housing, which closes the primary housing part at one end by means of an end-wall (25; 25.1) and which has an angled edge strip (20; 20.1), which overlaps an adjacent peripheral area of the primary housing part (1; 1.1), with several plug connections between the two housing parts, of which each has an insertion piece (10; 10.1) and a receiving slot to receive this as well as a detent edge (111; 211.1) and an accompanying locking abutment (211; 111.1), and whereby the two housing parts are secured in the locked position by means of the detent edges of one housing part lying against the locking abutments of the other housing part, characterised in that one housing part (1; 1.1) has a locating edge (12; 12.1) at a distance (b) from its end edge (13; 13.1), which in the locked position of the housing parts lies against a locating step (220; 220.1) of the other housing part (2; 2.1), and that this distance (b) is smaller by an end clearance (c) than the distance (d) of the locating edge (12; 12.1) from the end-wall (25; 25.1).
