Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0133524A2] 1. Lockable lifting device for the infinitely variable adjustment of chair seats, table tops or similar furniture parts, with a guide tube (1) which can be connected to a base frame (4), and with an adjustable-length gas spring (8), the piston rod (10) of which is connected in axially rigid but separable fashion to a bottom plate (5) of a guide tube (1), the housing (9) of which can be connected in axially rigid but separable fashion by an upper fixing portion (21) which has a corresponding hub (22), to the chair seat or table top and the housing (9) of which is guided in the guide tube (1) in laterally rigid but axially displaceable manner, and out of the housing (9) of which an actuating rod (26) for length-adjustment of the gas spring (8) projects upwardly into the fixing portion (21), characterized in that the housing (9) of the gas spring (8) is disposed radially rigidly in an additional tube (20) which forms a constituent part of the gas spring (8) and on which the fixing portion (21) is constructed, one end of the housing (9) bearing axially against an abutment in the region of the fixing portion (21), the other end of the housing (9) bearing against a fixing element (24) connected separably to the tube (20).
