[origin: US4610437A] There is provided a crucible for containing salt baths for the boriding of steels which has a high service life made of a steel which consists of (or consists essentially of) 0.05-0.8% carbon, 0.8-2.5% silicon, 0.1-2.0% manganese, 0-1.5% aluminum, 6-30% chromium, 4-39% nickel and the balance iron.

Tiegel zur Aufnahme von Salzbädern für das Borieren von Stählen zeigen dann hohe Standzeiten, wenn als Werkstoff Stähle mit 0,05 - 0,8% Kohlenstoff, 0,8 - 2,5% Silizium, 0,1 - 2,0 % Mangan, 0 - 1,5% Aluminium, 6 - 30% Chrom, 4 - 39 % Nickel, Rest Eisen verwendet werden.
