1. Electric furnace, in particular a direct-current arc furnace for melting metals, with at least one bottom electrode (7a, b, c, d) which is cooled on its side facing away from the interior of the furnace vessel, characterized in that the ratio of the cross-section of the bottom electrode (7a, b, c, d) in the furnace vessel bottom (4) to the cross-section in the furnace hearth area (16) is selected to be greater than 1.4 : 1, preferably 2 : 1.
Abstract (de)
Zur Erhöhung der Lebensdauer von Bodenelektroden (7a, b, c, d) für elektrische Öfen ist es von Bedeutung, daß die Temperatur des Schmelzbades (13) auf der Stirnfläche der Bodenelektroden (7a, b, c, d) in der Ofenherdfläche (16) lokalisiert bleibt oder die Lageänderung der Grenzschicht Flüssig-Fest zwischen Schmelzbad (13) und der Stirnfläche der Bodenelektroden (7a, b, c, d) axial in Richtung Ofengefäßboden (4) sich nur in geringfügigem Ausmaß vollziehen kann. Durch eine Querschnittsverringerung der Bodenelektroden (7a, b, c, d) vom Ofengefäßboden (4) bis zur Ofenherdfläche (16) entsprechend dem erfindungsgemäßen Dimensonierungsverhältnis können obengenannte Forderungen erfüllt werden.
