A device for removing markings on road surfaces and the like comprising a motor driven spindle (1) arranged to be perpendicular to the road surface and at whose lower end a shaft distributor (intersecting shaft means) is vertically adjustably arranged, the horizontal shafts (15) of such distributor carrying cutting tools (10) like dressing rolls, the shaft distributor (intersecting shaft means) being biased in relation to the spindle (1) downwards towards the road surface elastically, characterized in that each of the shafts (15) of the shaft distributor (intersecting shaft means) is bearinged on the spindle (1) so as to be separately vertically movable and is held down with a biasing action.
