[origin: EP0134940A2] The yarn smoothing liquid composition (11) contains a binder. To be able to effect smoothing in an energy-saving manner and without the customary sizing apparatus, the binder is applied to the yarn with a viscosity of at least 500 mPas and an active substance content of at least 10%, together with a release agent which is incompatible with the binder.
